WHAT IS CAMP GRACE?
Camp Grace is located on the property of Grace Church of the Islands at 6901 Concord Road on Wilmington Island. The church building has many classrooms and a large assembly room that seats up to 250 people. The outdoor property is 14 acres with a basketball court, playground, picnic tables, and a large grassy field.
THE PROGRAM
Camp Grace is a one-week session from June 2-6, 2025. Camp is 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily, Monday – Friday. There will be a maximum of 75 campers.
Camp Grace is for boys and girls ages 5 – 11 years. The campers will be divided into groups with each group having two counselors. This is a Christ-centered camp where the Gospel of Jesus is taught every day. The days are structured with many activities such as Bible study, music, crafts, water slides, games, reading time, and visits from very special guests. On Friday, we will have a closing program that begins at 4:00. All parents, grandparents, guardians, and friends are encouraged to attend.
DAILY ACTIVITIES
Bible
Camp Grace is a Christian camp and has a daily Bible lesson. These lessons are taught to the whole group by the Camp Director. The emphasis during the Bible time is on the Gospel or “good news” of Jesus. These short lessons are taught in the morning and the afternoon every day.
Music
Each day after the Bible lesson, the children will have a time of music. They will be taught fun camp songs, as well as Bible songs. In addition, the children will be taught about different instruments and possibly some music theory.
Crafts
The campers will complete one to two crafts each day. One craft will reinforce what was taught during the Bible lesson. These are fun crafts such as a creation collage, an ark, a manger, a bracelet, and much more.
Themed Afternoon Program
Each afternoon, the campers will participate in a themed program, such as: International day where they learn about England (King George and King Henry VIII), France, Brazil; Fiesta Day; Camping Day; Luau Day; and Carnival Day.
Water Activities
Every day, the campers will participate in water activities that include: Large Water Slide, Water limbo, Water balloon toss or other water games
Special Guests
There will be special guests that will visit our campus. These guests could possibly bring animals, so please let us know on the registration form if your child has any allergies to animals.
Game Time
We will always have time for basketball, 4 square, 4 corners, duck duck goose, and the playground. Afterall, this IS a summer camp.
Rest Time
After lunch, there will be a rest period. For the older campers who do not particularly want or need to rest, this will be a quiet time of reading or playing games. Your child may bring his or her favorite book to read silently, or we will have books from which he/she may choose. For the younger children, the counselor may read a book aloud.
End-of-Day Assembly
At the end of each day, all the campers will meet in the assembly room to view a short skit by the counselors, to talk about the day’s activities, and to be dismissed.
